The "lemmas" are typical Sicilian containers in a truncated-conical shape used for food purposes. Made of glazed and vitrified terracotta. The introduction in Sicily of the technique of vitrification and waterproofing, which made the lemmas and in general ceramics suitable for food use, took place in the tenth century, thanks to the Arab domination on the island. This splendid set of 3 lemmas with wooden palette has been made entirely by Sicilian master craftsmen, coming from the Madonie and the Sicani Mountains area, and is mottled in the typical emerald blue and aqua green colors. The set includes: - 3 headwords with a lower diameter of 4.0 cm and an upper diameter of 9.5 cm (green and blue colours available)
- 1 wooden palette with 6 cm handle and 3 holes diameter 4 cm for positioning the headwords; Palette length: 33 cm
N.B.: since these are entirely handmade items, the measurements may vary by a few millimeters compared to those indicated. Even the temperature of the kiln or the seasonality of production could slightly affect minute shades of color and small details in the applications of the artifact that are natural and obvious to craftsmanship. If there are small imperfections, these always denote the craftsmanship of the product, making each piece unique in its kind
